SRNN Highly Commended!

Swindon Real Nappy Network recently received a Highly Commended certificate at the Swindon Eco Bash for our work in promoting cloth nappies to reduce waste going to landfill. There were around 35 entries, with winners and runners up in 4 categories and three highly commended - they gave these extra awards because the scores were so close.

5th February 2007 - Response from Michael Wills MP:
Dear Ms Gilby

Thank you very much for your email of 29 January.

I share your concern about the minimisation of waste and I have written to Ben Bradshaw MP at the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs with the concerns you raise about the publication of research into the comparative impact on the environment of the use of disposable and reusable nappies. I will contact you as soon as I receive a response, but in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss any of this further.

Yours sincerely

Michael Wills
MP for North Swindon
